When the condition is minor, you can also try some non-medical home remedies. Make sure you listen to your body and you seek medical attention if the problem is not minor or if it persists. But even when visiting your doctor, you should feel comfortable to discuss the possibility of solving an ailment without medication. Could this ailment be relieved by eating better? By changing your living conditions? By exercising?

#3 Check out Low-Cost and Free Clinics

Though these often get a bad rap, low-cost clinics vary greatly from clinic to clinic, and you should not immediately discount them as an option. They are a great way to treat a relatively minor ailment or to give you an opinion as to whether you need to go to a hospital.
